Learn of the dangers of flying elephants, discover your inner squirrel as you shout ‘NUTS’ with gusto & ride into the sunset on your imaginary horse!

SKYLARKER PRESENTS THE BOOK KEEPERS
Two eccentric characters have been travelling all around the world collecting stories. Come & meet them & try out their amazing StoryGenerating machine! Discover some new stories, create your own tales, bring them to life with movement & dance & make a book to keep them in! Suitable for under 10s & their families.Jayne Leaver
Jayne is a qualified early years teacher & Community Builder for Newtown & St. Leonards. She will be leading nursery rhyme sessions, including action rhymes; one for under one-year olds & another for toddlers & young children (walkers up to 3 years old). Parents will be asked to join in!

At Newtown Preschool we enjoy movement, music & singing & we include them every day. Physical activity & music are amongst the best ways to build children’s brains, & most children love the chance to move & join in with music. We’ll be sharing some activities children enjoy at Preschool – songs, yoga, Dough Gym & stories.
An hour of interactive family disco where DJs will play an eclectic mix of world music accompanied by bubbles, lights & balloons. We’re encouraging children & families to come & dance together & enjoy the interactive sensory experience.

HOSTED BY ONE THOUSAND AND ONE STORIES
A tent of rich human experience where the voices of people of all backgrounds and ages can be heard. Inspiring and unique, real-life stories are told with a willingness to share experience & answer questions honestly, before an audience curious to hear, be surprised, & discover something new.
EXETER POP-UP FARM
A pop up farm at Exeter Respect Festival too provide a range of experience & opportunities to learn about the natural world & farming.
Inside the Marquee
Educational activities & workshops for children & adults throughout the day including:
Planting a window box
Arts & crafts activities using natural materials
A programme of expert speakers talking on different subjects. These will be timed sessions with 4 events each day (8 in total). For example:
Natural crafts & textiles
Cooking straight from the garden
Looking after chickens
A mini exhibition space, information provision with information boards about healthy eating, where food comes from & information about Exeter City Farm.
Outside the marquee our aim is to create a herb bed for the sensory garden in Belmont Park .This will be an ongoing activity across the weekend to be able to prepare the ground & plant the herbs.
Our aim is to create the opportunity to see & learn about farm animals. We are currently focused on delivering this work with chickens. There would be an opportunity to see the chickens throughout the day & an opportunity to feed and potentially handle the chickens & learn about them at set times.
PHILLIPPINES COMMUNITY CHOIR
A place to browse, read & relax.
Music workshops, music performances from young people, cube game challenges, a mocktail bar, sumo suits, face painting, a learning & guidance section as well as Radio Rush, a radio show run by young people who will be walking around capturing the festival.
Focusing on promoting their new project #ExeterYouthVoice for young people aged 14-21.
Hosting session about international languages in Devon. Fun and informative.
Blue slides slopes in the Family Zone A variety of activities for children & their families to enjoy.
Dress up in the style of a bygone era or different culture with costumes, step behind a gold picture frame to take a fun & memorable photograph, handle the museum’s authentic & replica Roman objects, explore artefacts from the World Cultures collection.

ECI INFORMATION TENT
ECI will be providing an information tent where staff & volunteers will be providing sample tasters of Mindfulness techniques & therapies. Members of the public can access these for FREE (although a donation will be asked for – not obligatory). Staff will be on site to talk to the public about the work of ECI’s projects – Jelly, Transitions, Ripple Effect & Bike Bank. We will also have a slack line for more adventurous types who might like to give it a go.
